There is currently no option to buy permits online. Permits must be purchased in person from one of the village shops listed below, during their normal opening hours.
You must have a valid permit before you begin fishing.
All rules and regulations are printed on the permit which must be followed.
The fishing season runs from 15 March to 6 October each year.
Please note: fishing is not permitted on Sundays.
Local Shop Permit Sellers
There are three shops in Norham Village where you can purchase permits. Opening times may vary - particularly on Bank Holidays - so it's a good idea to check before you travel.
1. Foreman's Butchers - Opening Times: - Sunday & Monday: Closed - Tuesday to Saturday: 6:30am - 4pm
2. Castle Gunmakers - (Click the link icon on the right for a link to their website and for Foreman's).
3. Mace Village Shop - Opening Times: -Monday to Saturday: 7:30am - 5:30pm - Sunday: 7:30am - 11:30am
Note: There is no website link available for the Mace Shop.
Types of Permits & Prices
Visitor Permit - £10 per day - £20 per week - £30 per season.
Country Membership Permit - £30 per year A limited number of these permits are available each year. Applications must be made in person and are subject to committee approval. Benefits may vary depending on eligibility criteria.
Local Membership Permit - £30 per year Available exclusively to residents within the Parish of Norham & Ladykirk.
Junior Permit - (under 16) Free for eligible applicants. Anglers under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
WhatsApp Group - Local members may join a closed WhatsApp group. Requests must be made in person to one of the Officers.
